Join us for a live webinar on the topic of the capture rates of BESS projects.
FlexUp are a group of renewable energy veterans, with experience ranging from stochastic modeling of flex assets, BESS and solar project development, financing, asset management, and a lot more. Among other services, the FlexUp team maintains a repository of voluntary forecast providers for transparent benchmarking.
Electricity Maps is a company that's spent the last decade building the world's most comprehensive electricity data platform. Recently, we've been focused on the performance of our forecasting engine for the power markets. We're working with traders and BESS projects as a supplier of pricing and fundamentals forecasts.
Our joint collaboration was a project meant to understand the value of the Electricity Maps forecasts in BESS trading projects in various European bidding zones by measuring the capture rate on the day-ahead market. Along the way, despite decent performance, we've noticed one thing: MAE and other error metrics correlated poorly to captured revenue.
We've been investigating this issue, and we've found some problems and solutions along the way. We'll be sharing them all on this webinar.
The event with be co-hosted by
Erwin Spolders, Co-founder and Quant Analyst, FlexUp
Julien Lavalley, Product specialist, Electricity Maps
